City InfoHunter is a city in Cass County, North Dakota, United States. The population was 261 at the 2010 census. Hunter was founded in 1881. Hunter was first called Delano, and under the latter name was platted in 1880 when the railroad was extended to that point. The name Hunter was adopted in 1881 for John Hunter, a local landowner.
